We have had a great response in sign ups this year and we have decided to keep the ball rolling! The early entry has been pushed back to April 15, 2011! So if you have a friend that is on the fence let them know they can still save on the entry fee.
OK, I see the updated course rotation is posted, but I still don’t know what tees I am playing because I don’t know what flight I am in. I’m right on the border from what I can figure out, but there were three flights last year and only two this year. When will we find out what flight we are in?
Most associations send out the most recent handicap index updates on May 15th so I will be doing all index verifications over this weekend. We will then put up a course rotation with the index range for each flight along with a letter mailed out to participants. You will see this information go up early next week. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks!
I was wondering if anyone could tell me what tees the men 49 and under play from in this tournament. This will be my first time playing, and I want to play a couple of practice rounds and it would be nice to play from the same tees.
I am finalizing all of that in the next day or so. Another course rotation will be posted by the end of this week with tees for each flight. We are looking forward to seeing everyone in a couple of weeks!
Christian, last year the Masters division was reduced down to only one flight with 44 players. As of the 4-8-11 listing there are already 57 in the Masters division, so will we go back to two flights? Also, I notice two players listed as in the Super Senior flights that played in the Masters last year ( Gene Moenck and Don Pavlich), might want to check to see if this is an error. Looking forward to another fun tournament. One other thing, I got a yardage book from the Chase and they do not list any Gold tees, will we then be playing from the Whites that are listed at 6,215 yards? Quite a big difference from Falcon at 4,821 and Plams at5,569.
If that number holds we will be having two flights for the Masters division. I will check on Gene and Don but some of the do ask to play in different age divisions. As for the Chase you are correct they do not have gold tees so I am working with them to have a set up for between 5500-5800 for you guys. Hope that helps.
April 16, 2011, Full Price is $525.00 unless Early Registration Price is Extended again. I hope you all took advantage of the lower price. But hey, registration is still open. So come on and join us at the best Amateur Tournament that I have attended.
6 days at discount left, counting today. come on you procrastinators, this is the best time you will have at any Amateur Golf Tournament. Or you can wait, and spend more to enter. But still enter. The more the merrier. And then don’t forget to join us for Cigars on Wednesday evening. 49 days for wheels down and 80 MPH for me. see you there. ( legal Limit )
Jerry,
You speak with golden tong, and right too!! There is no better place to play golf I have found of course my wife does not take me on vacations to play golf. So that is why I come to Mesquite I cannot wait to get there.
I wish I could talk my golf buddies into come to this tournament, just a bunch of wimps.
They miss out on the best golf, food and fellow ship around, there lose and my fun. So
one week left for the extension so lets get going and play some golf.
See you all soon.
Those of us that are into numbers and participant stats, I would like to offer the following. Congrats to the Masters and Women for increasing their participation over last year. It looks like 43 couples and 55 unattached ladies so far for this year. To carry this a little further the unattached men attending is around 340 which represents 6 men to each female. Like myself some of us will be attending with non-golfing spouses which changes the odds somewhat. For those of you looking for just great golf there is still time to get in on the best price for the best run Amateur tournament in the United States. There isn’t a single adjective to explain or qualify this tournament. You will just lose out on a chance of a lifetime if you don’t show up to participate and play. There is something for everyone. The Men, Seniors and Super Seniors need to do more if we are going to keep up with the Masters and Women flights to beat last years totals. It is a challenge. Which Division will beat the numbers from last year by the biggest margin.
Let me be the first to say this is great news
there is no better place I can think of to play golf at such a great price.
Come on down people and lets have some fun, life is to short to worry about the little things.
Christen and everyone put together a great time and make it fun for all.
Cannot wait to get there and tee it up!!
